Oil on linen
136 x 153 cm
A visit to Freycinet (Tasmania) and a drawing from the lookout point above Wineglass Bay of the Hazards which frame it led to this painting.
The imposing and wild hillsides and rocky outcrops offer opportunities to work the paint surface and to establish underlying forms in the painting.
The use of liquid paint in defining forms is consistent with the rain that eroded away rock over time to establish the formations.
