Hazards Freycinet 2009 revisited

This is the drawing from a visit to Freycinet in Tasmania in 2009 which I developed into a large scale canvas.  It is a view across the mountains from the lookout above wineglass bay, in pencil, ink, wash and watercolour:

with activated marks and use of paint enlivening the surface and forms.  The painting contains a rebus (visual pun) in the purple sky as a reference to Streeton’s ‘The purple noon’s transparent might‘ – National Gallery of Victoria.
