Rosie after Arcimboldo, in collage

I just finished this collage, reprising the image of Rosie the Riveter, for a competition for a magazine cover.  The premise was to create a work reflecting 21st century women.  I took the iconic 1940s image of Rosie, used to recruit women to the munitions and military manufacturing industries, and using the assemblage of Arcimboldo from the 1560’s (for a modern touch), took to magazines with scissors for images of women to build a 21st century Rosie from, The result, on a sheet of paper 84 cm by 58 is seen above, and I think works nicely.
