This is an oil done as a commission for a friend in Adelaide, of the Adelaide hills, in oil and glaze.
in february i went to a Flinders quartet concert at Montsalvat, and heard the new string composition of Derek Brookes. this including what he described as moments of joy and haiku concepts. i think these came across in the little watercolour I did during it, with a little of the lyricism:

As I presented it to the Quartet for him, I had a go at reworking it in a larger format on yupo paper below.

I went to the flinder’s Quartet concert at Montsalvat on Sunday and drew.
the Webern 12 tone Bagatelles, lead to the first drawing being of fragmented forms, and the other works are more fluid.
