A friend performed a puppet show as the puppeteer a while back (2007) and I went along. I did a little pen and ink sketch while there which Shan has now. In 2009 a friend commissioned me to work on a landscape for her. She selected a drawing of the Organpipes national park, of a rockface and cliff edge. I worked up this image for her. People seeing it are, I am told, interpretting things into the shapes. Much as clouds become rabbits.
I went up to Powelltown on Melbourne cup day with some friends and was at Ada River on a log. I dashed off a little watercolour there focussing on the shapes and interlacing of trees in the environs:
I was starting to work up an image as underpainting for a new work. It is abandoned so I have painted over it. So this is the last puff of smoke in the wind remaining of it.
